KARA MANN, INTERIOR DESIGNERWebsite
Kara Mann is known for creating interior design environments that align her backgrounds in fashion, art, and design by re-imagining the possibilities of spatial design. Mann is founder and creative director of KARA MANN, the design firm, established in Chicago in 2005. Today she also has an office in Manhattan, where she continues to work with an international roster of discerning clients and industry leaders on both residential and commercial projects. Here’s what Mann had to say about our first Limited Edition Series range:
“Ranges are taking center stage in kitchens these days. I've been finding clients who are looking to make that a design element. So this approach with Viking is amazing. The use of the copper-hued Rose Gold is definitely unique, so it’s exciting to see a new material being used, moving away from the typical stainless steel.”
“It’s definitely forward-thinking. I love the use of materials—super elevated and unique. This approach with Viking is amazing."
KARA’S FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE CAST BLACK + ROSE GOLD RANGE
“I love that it’s a limited edition. That’s also a bit of a trend right now—trying to find those things that are one step above, super elevated and very special, and not a lot out there in the world. With mass marketing there seems to be a lot of proliferation with design. So I like that there are just a certain number of these ranges out in the world.”
Patrick O'Connell, Michelin ChefWebsite
Patrick O’Connell pioneered a refined, regional American cuisine in the Virginia countryside long before the farm-to-table movement had a name. His Inn at Little Washington opened in a former garage in 1978 and has evolved from a simple country inn to an international culinary shrine—which may be why he has often been referred to as “the Pope of American Cuisine.”
Entrepreneur, author, cultural ambassador, and philanthropist, O’Connell’s enigmatic leadership has earned many accolades. O’Connell and the Inn have won five awards from the James Beard Foundation, including Restaurant of the Year in 1993, Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and the prestigious Outstanding American Chef Award for 2001. His commitment as an ambassador of American Cuisine comes to life at the international association Relais & Chateaux, where he currently serves as President of Relais & Chateaux North America.
Recently awarded the coveted 3-Star Michelin rating, Chef O’Connell’s passion for culinary excellence and innovation fuels his life. That’s why Chef was immediately drawn to Viking’s new Cast Black + Rose Gold Limited Edition range, which is installed in his personal kitchen. It’s a perfect match for Chef O’Connell in technology, innovation, and style.
